TAO WU Born 1979, lives and works in Hefei, China

Chinese landscape photographer Tao Wu grew up in a modest home where his father instilled in him the importance of recording events by often photographing family occasions and trips. Wu began photographing as well but preferred to shoot landscapes, a practice his father considered to be a waste of the expensive film. In 2009, Wu bought his first DSLR Nikon camera and could freely shoot whatever he wished without having to worry about wasting film. Wu’s design career influences his thoughtful compositions and choices of color and form, while his calm inner self guides him towards images of quiet, natural minimalism.
