ROBIN VANDENABEELE Born 1981, lives and works in Bruges, Belgium

After working for years as a stage-man and travelling around the world, Robin Vandenabeele had a desire to document all the places he visited – so he bought a Patricka MTL5 camera and never stopped taking photos. Curiosity is one of Vandenabeele’s main drives and he is constantly experimenting with wrong chemicals, unusual shutter speeds, multiple exposures and extremely high ISO film.

Vandenabeele is currently living in Bruges, Belgium and still provides rigging and staging services. The images in his trademark double exposure series are always made at the time and the place of capture rather than using digital manipulation, forcing the artist to choose the right lighting and weather conditions and carefully plan his compositions to ensure that the two images blend together seamlessly.
