PHILIP MCKAY Born 1963, lives and works in Liverpool, England

Philip McKay, the self-taught British photographer and digital artist, creates works that challenge the eye and its perception of what is real and what is not. McKay’s works feature surreal images with a lone person in the frame. Heavily influenced by Dali and Magritte, the surrealist images are pensive and dreamlike, often times evoking feelings of despair and loneliness. McKay offers viewers a peek into his own life and emotional state through his desolate landscapes and singular individuals that seem to be bracing for a storm.
