PAULINA CERDA Born 1986, lives and works in Sydney, Australia

Chilean painter Paulina Cerda creates works on paper in an abstract surreal style. Cerda uses light shades of Acrylic colors, transparency and pencil drawing combined with water colors in order to portray a sense of movement in unfamiliar forms that look like a layered organism. Her works are reminiscent of a soft dream which in fact is what inspires her; the dream-like characteristics of memory and how we perceive it. Inspired by Salvador Dali, Cerda creates works that defy time and space. The ability to understand one’s subconscious and to actively engage with what is not black and white, is what Paulina Cerda wishes to instill in her viewers.
