Mark Yale Harris is best known for his figurative sculptures made from a variety of materials, including marble, alabaster, bronze, and limestone. The elegant yet playful bear sculptures are inspired by Alaskan wildlife and are portrayed engaging in a range of daily activities. Harris’s works have one very simple mission – to make us feel through form. The small scale and smooth finish of the sculptures stand in contrast to the vast rugged beauty of the land and its inhabitants.
Harris’s work was presented in many solo and group gallery exhibitions since 2000 and his works can be seen in many collections across the U.S.
