KATHY RENNELL FORBES Lives and works in Atlanta, GA, U.S.

Kathy Rennell Forbes is an accomplished artist and instructor, who conducts watercolor workshops around the United States and internationally. Forbes’ watercolor paintings are inspired by her travels to the Caribbean, especially from her memories visiting Havana, Cuba.

Forbes’ works depict urban scenes as well as elements of nature. While she creates most of her paintings in her studio, she enjoys painting outdoors, often taking with her a small watercolor journal from which she then creates the larger studio pieces.
“My favorite place to paint is outdoors, where I become one with nature, lost in the scenery and the painting. It keeps my work fresh and provides new challenges, whether it is a new country or dealing with the changing elements of nature.”

Forbes earned her BFA in Art and Art Education from the University of Georgia in Athens. She is a signature member and past president of the Georgia Watercolor Society and has won numerous awards. Her works are included in private and corporate collections around the world.
