Karen Khachaturov is a young, talented, self-taught photographer from Armenia, who creates unique, eye-catching pastel colored photography with minimum digital editing. After he finished studying web programing, Kachaturov started to experiment with photography. His surreal photographic work invites the viewer into a colorful universe, made of original scenes where the elements of daily life meet unexpected objects. The dream-like mood, in spite of the apparent mundane setting, is created thanks to the artist’s use of soft, warm and poetic lighting. Often hiding the faces of the people who inhabit his worlds, Khachaturov encourage us to reflect on the elusive beauty that surrounds us daily. In his work ‘Space Connection’ the artist sets a pastel colored architectural backdrop with a model whose face is covered by a fuchsia tube that hides her sight from capturing the beauty of life.
Since Khachaturov started his artistic career in 2014 he exhibited several times in the Armenian capital – the first time in the spring of 2016. His work has also been featured in Georgia, Beijing and New York.
