FRANCIS MESLET Lives and works in Nancy, France

Francis Meslet began his professional career as a designer and soon afterwards became an Artistic Director in several advertising agencies. After 30 years spent questioning creative concepts and studying images he is now also a renowned photographer who roams the world searching for abandoned sites, sanctuaries where time seems to have stopped after humans have evacuated them.

His works reveal deserted places where the only sounds are the rustling of the wind through a broken window or the trickle of water dripping from a dilapidated ceiling. By inviting the spectator to slip into these guarded and mysterious places and capturing their silences, Meslet brings to life places that have been forgotten.

“From these silences, everyone can imagine their own interpretations... reinterpretations.”
